Wabash College won its first home Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League match on Saturday with a 3-0 shutout win over Olivet College in the final match of the 2023 season. The victory was also the third conference victory in program history since winning a pair of MCVL matches at Wittenberg in 2021.

Wabash (9-19, 1-7 MCVL) raced out to an 11-1 lead in the opening set after Olivet (8-15, 1-9 MCVL) tied the score at 1-1 in the first two serves. The Little Giants won the opening set 25-8 behind five kills by
Patrick Volk and three kills from
Jackson Leeper. Volk turned in a .556 attack percentage in that opening set.

The Little Giants won a back-and-fourth set in the second. The set featured 13 ties and six lead changes before Wabash took a 20-19 lead before outscoring the visiting Comets 5-3 to win the set 25-22. Leeper led the team with four kills in five attacks for a .800 percentage in the set. Wabash secured the win with a 25-19 victory in the final set.

Wabash finished the match with a  single-match record .415 hitting percentage with 42 kills in 82 attacks with eight attack errors. Volk led the team with 14 kills and posted a .462 hitting percentage. Leeper and
Ricky Sessions each recorded nine kills in the match.
Will Beikes gave out 31 assists on offense and finished with a team-best ten digs on defense.

Wabash finished with nine total victories, the most in a season since starting the program in 2021.
