A 21-point second quarter and four defensive turnovers led the Wabash College football team to a 31-13 victory at Ohio Wesleyan University Saturday afternoon. The win kept the Little Giants undefeated in North Coast Athletic Conference action this season.

Wabash (3-1, 2-0 NCAC) took a 7-0 lead on a one-yard touchdown run by
Donovan Snyder to cap a seven-play, 71-yard drive midway through the first quarter. The Little Giants started the three-score second quarter with a 41-yard pass from
Liam Thompson to
Penn Stoller that split two Ohio Wesleyan (2-3, 1-2 NCAC) safeties. Stoller outran the Battling Bishops' defenders into the endzone to give Wabash a 14-0 lead with 5:50 left in the half.

The Wabash defense dominated the game, forcing four turnovers with three interceptions and one fumble recovery. The Little Giants held OWU on a fourth-down attempt at midfield, turning the ball over to the offense on downs. Wabash took advantage by marching 59 yards in four plays to make it a 21-0 contest on a 13-yard TD throw from Thompson to
Jacob Riddle. Jacob Pasch recorded the game's first interception for Wabash on the next series and set up the offense after a 28-yard return. Thompson scored on a four-yard run to give the Little Giants the 28-0 halftime lead.

Brody Rucker added a 34-yard field goal for the Little Giants' final score of the game. Wabash held Ohio Wesleyan to 100 total yards of offense on 49 plays through the third quarter. The Bishops ended the shutout with a nine-play, 43-yard drive that ended with an eight-yard TD pass from Austin Womack to Tyler Webb. OWU added a 15-yard TD run in the game's closing minute for the 31-13 final.

Thompson completed 12-of-22 passes for 164 yards and two touchdowns with two interceptions. He moved into third place on the NCAC career passing list with 9,052 yards, moving past Earlham's Justin Rummell with 9,390 passing yards. Thompson's two TD throws moved him into a tie for second place on the NCAC career TD passing list with 85, matching DePauw's Matt Hunt and his career total of 85. Thompson led Wabash in rushing with 87 yards and one score. Snyder finished with 60 rushing yards and one TD. The Little Giants gained 173 yards on the ground while holding OWU to 39 rushing yards on 27 carries. Snyder led the Wabash receivers with four catches for 41 yards. Six different Little Giants caught passes in the game.

Wabash held OWU to 208 total yards of offense in the game and an average of 3.2 yards per play.
Avery Epstein,
Brock Robertson, and Pasch recorded interceptions for the Little Giants.
Joe Rios recovered an Ohio Wesleyan fumble.
Gavin Ruppert and
Mike Holsclaw shared the team lead with seven tackles apiece. The Little Giants recorded three sacks, with
Brody Frey pacing the effort with 1-1/2 sacks for 11 yards.
Cal Pawlowski added a sack for five yards, and
Steven Thomas combined with Frey for a sack of four yards. Wabash made seven tackles for losses totaling 25 yards.
