CRAWFORDSVILLE, Indiana --- The Wabash College volleyball team opened its 2025 season with a pair of home victories, defeating Indiana University East and Goshen College by identical 3-1 scores on Saturday afternoon at Chadwick Court.

Wabash (2-0) held the lead in the first two sets of its victory over IU East (0-2), earning a 25-16 win in the first set and a 25-17 victory in the second. The visiting Red Wolves rallied to capture the program's first win with a 25-19 victory in the third set. The Little Giants responded with a 25-21 win in the fourth set to secure the overall victory.

Shad Wilson put away kills in nine total attacks for a .778 attack percentage.
Will Beikes recorded four kills with a .667 attack percentage. Beikes also gave out 33 assists. Freshman libero
Piotr Wolan made a team-high seven digs.

The Little Giants battled Goshen (1-1) in a four-set victory. The match featured 23 tie scores and 12 lead changes through all four sets. Wabash opened with a 25-16 win in the first set, but the visiting Maple Leafs answered with a 25-18 in the second set to even the overall score at 1-1.

The two teams battled back and forth in the third set, forcing nine ties along with six lead changes before the Little Giants jumped out to a 24-20 lead with points on four consecutive serves from Beikes.
Bawibawi Thang scored the winning Wabash kill to give the Little Giants the 25-21 victory in the third set.

The teams traded the lead three times with eight ties in the final set before Wabash broke a 22-22 tie with a kill from
Jackson Leeper. Thang added another kill to get the Little Giant to match point. Goshen added one final score to cut the lead to 24-23 before Leaper scored the game-winning kill off a set from Beikes for the 3-1 win.

Zev Wolverton paced the Wabash offense with a team-high 20 kills and recorded a .459 attack percentage. Thang added 18 kills with a .424 attack percentage. Beikes finished with 42 assists. Wolan picked up 11 digs in the winning effort.

Wabash travels to Central State University on Friday, January 31, for a 7 p.m. contest.
