SPRINGFIELD, Ohio --- The Wabash College volleyball team started its 2025 Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League schedule Thursday evening with a road match at Wittenberg University. The Little Giants stayed even with host Tigers in the opening set but could not stay even for the remainder of the night in a 3-0 loss.

Wabash (11-3, 0-1 MCVL) tied the score eight times in the first set and at one point held a two-point lead at 8-6 lead. Wittenberg (13-8, 1-0 MCVL) evened the score at 8-8 before eventually earning a 25-20 victory.

The Little Giants scored the opening point of the second set, but Wittenberg tied the score at 1-1. Wabash answered with the next point to move back in front before the Tigers tied the score at 2-2 and then raced out to a 15-8 lead and a 25-15 win in the second set.

Wabash was never able to tie or take a lead in the final set, falling 25-13 for the 3-0 final score.

Patrick Volk led the Wabash offense with nine kills.
Matthew Stitle gave out 15 assists.
Graham Volk added another eight assists for the Little Giants on offense. Libero
Piotr Wolan led the team with four digs.

Wabash continues its Ohio road trip with another MCVL match on Friday at Mount St. Joseph beginning at 7 p.m.
