VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia --- Wabash scored five consecutive goals after Curry College took a 4-2 lead at the end of the first period of Wednesday's NCAA Division III men's lacrosse contest played at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex. The Little Giants continued their offensive output, earning a 14-10 victory over the Colonels to move to 2-0 in spring break matchups on the East Coast.

Wabash (5-2) got four goals from
Blake Stephens and hat tricks from
Sam Santiago and
Jake Pippen in the winning effort.
Evan Bair and
Quinn Fitzgerald gave out three assists apiece.

Curry (0-7) scored the opening goal in the first eight seconds of the contest before Fitzgerald answered with a goal midway through the opening period. Curry sandwiched two goals around Stephens' first tally of the match to move in front 3-2 before adding a fourth goal with 1:24 left in the first period.

Santiago opened the second-period scoring five minutes into the quarter to cut the Curry lead to 4-3. He added a second goal with 1:36 remaining in the half to tie the score at 4-4. Wabash wasn't finished on offense, adding goals from
Will Sorg and
Christian Dybedock in the final minute to take a 6-4 lead at the break.

Stephens made it a three-goal advantage by scoring in the first minute of the third period. Curry ended the Wabash scoring run, but Santiago answered with another goal with 6:30 left on the third-period clock to give the Little Giants an 8-5 lead. The Colonels scored with 4:53 left in the third, but Pippen responded with a goal nine seconds later. He added another goal with 2:38 left in the period before Dybedock finished the scoring with a goal to give Wabash an 11-6 lead entering the final 15 minutes of play.

Stephens scored twice more in the fourth period to answer two goals by Curry. The Colonels added two more goals before Pippen scored on an extra-man opportunity to produce the four-goal victory.

Wabash outshot Curry 40-30 for the contest. The Little Giants were 1-of-4 on extra-man opportunities, while Curry finished 2 of 4 in extra-man chances. Wabash goalkeeper

Luka DiFilippo won 16 faceoffs and grabbed a team-best 11 ground balls. The Little Giants finished with six caused turnovers, with

Nate Jones,
Cooper Navarro,

Eli Backus, and Krekler each recording one individually.
