CRAWFORDSVILLE, Indiana --- Senior Camden Scheidt delivered a base hit in the first inning to break the Wabash career hits record and lead the Little Giants to a 13-7 win over Earlham College Tuesday evening. Scheidt added a double in the eighth inning to break the career doubles record in the winning effort.
 
Scheidt broke AJ Reid's mark of 210 career hits and eclipsed David Oliger's record of 50 doubles. Scheidt owns the Wabash career marks for runs scored, walks, total hits, doubles, and triples. He added three RBI to his totals in Tuesday's victory
 
Sophomore DJ Mendez collected four RBIs for Wabash (23-10). Aiden McConnell (4-2) got the win out of the bullpen for Wabash (23-10). The right-hander went one shutout inning without giving up a hit, no walks, and striking out one. Conner Lambert also pitched well, going 1.1 shutout innings without allowing a hit, walking two and striking out four.
 
Mendez went 3-for-4 with a double and a walk in addition to his four RBIs for the Little Giants. Will Phillips also put together a noteworthy day at the dish, going 3-for-4 with a triple, a walk, and an RBI.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 1-0, the Little Giants first put runs on the board in the first inning. Wabash's offense started clicking and put up four runs, including a three-run double off the bat of Mendez.

The Little Giants held the Quakers scoreless before getting back on the board the next inning. Wabash pushed across two runs in the inning, bringing the Little Giants lead to 6-1.

Earlham (14-18)  narrowed Wabash's lead to 6-3 before the Little Giants stretched the advantage to 8-3 in the fifth inning.

The Quakers fought back, closing the gap to 8-5 until Wabash added some insurance in the seventh. The Little Giants picked up two runs off of Earlham pitching, punctuated by a run-scoring double from Will Fremion, bringing the Wabash advantage to 10-5.

Earlham got within 10-7 until the Little Giants scored again in the eighth inning to stretch its lead to 13-7. The score remained 13-7 for the rest of the game as the Little Giants coasted to the win.
