CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. — The Wabash College lacrosse team closed out its 2026 home schedule Wednesday afternoon, falling 17-4 to Ohio Wesleyan University in a North Coast Athletic Conference contest at Fischer Field at Mud Hollow Stadium.
The Little Giants dropped to 3-12 overall and 1-6 in conference play, while the Battling Bishops improved to 8-6 overall and 6-2 in the NCAC.
Wabash found itself in an early hole after Ohio Wesleyan's Henry Ross and Wade Beckstrom scored in the game's first two minutes to give the Bishops a 2-0 advantage.
Jake Pippen answered for the Little Giants at 11:05 of the first quarter on an assist from
Christian Dybedock to cut the deficit to 2-1.
That was as close as Wabash would get. Will Siegenthaler scored twice in the final 1:16 of the opening period, and the Little Giants trailed 4-1 after one quarter of play.
The second period proved difficult for the home side as Ohio Wesleyan poured in eight goals to seize a 12-2 halftime lead.
Will Sorg provided Wabash's lone bright spot in the quarter, scoring an unassisted goal at 6:07 to briefly interrupt the Bishops' offensive attack. But Ohio Wesleyan answered with three more goals in the final three minutes of the half, including a power-play goal by Max Kemp.
The Little Giants could not generate any sustained offensive pressure in the second half. Sorg scored his second unassisted goal at 1:07 of the third quarter to make it 14-3, and Pippen netted his second goal of the game at 6:51 of the fourth quarter on an assist from
Evan Bair to cut the margin to 16-4, but those were the only goals Wabash would muster after halftime as Ohio Wesleyan closed out the 17-4 victory.
Sorg and Pippen each scored two goals to lead the Little Giants' offense. Bair and Dybedock each contributed one assist.
Ohio Wesleyan dominated the faceoff circle, winning 21 of 23 draws. The Bishops also held a commanding 51-20 advantage in ground balls and outshot Wabash 58-29.

Kade Hand entered for the final 15 minutes, surrendering three goals and making two saves.
Will Siegenthaler led Ohio Wesleyan with three goals and one assist for four points. Henry Ross contributed two goals and three assists for a game-high five points. Garrett Smith and Wade Beckstrom each finished with three points apiece, as the Bishops spread the scoring across 10 different goal scorers.
Ohio Wesleyan goalkeeper Jason Mosher earned the win, improving to 8-6. He played 45 minutes, allowing three goals and making six saves. Ohio Wesleyan converted two of its three extra-man opportunities, while Wabash went 0-for-2 on power plays.
Wabash did manage a better clearing rate than the Bishops, going 21-for-27 compared to Ohio Wesleyan's 15-for-19. Turnovers were nearly even, with the Little Giants committing 22 to Ohio Wesleyan's 24.
Wabash wraps up the 2026 season on Saturday with a road contest at Oberlin College at 1 p.m.
