Wabash College golfers Liam McAllister and Mason Pierle

McAllister, Pierle Earn Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar Honors

Recent Wabash College graduate Liam McAllister and rising junior Mason Pierle were named 2025-26 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars for NCAA Division III by the Golf Coaches Association of America on Monday.

McAllister, a Spanish major, competed in 22 rounds over nine events for the Little Giants last season. He averaged 78.45 strokes per round and recorded a top-10 finish by tying for seventh place at the fourth annual Forest Hills Invitational.

Pierle, a philosophy, politics and economics major, averaged 78.77 strokes over 22 rounds in nine events for the Wabash golf team. He posted two top-10 finishes, tying for ninth place at the Forest Hills Invitational before adding another ninth-place finish at the DePauw Spring Clash in April.

To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar honors, a student-athlete must be a sophomore, junior or senior academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II or III or the NAIA. An NJCAA student-athlete must be receiving an associate degree and be in the final year of athletic eligibility.

Candidates must participate in at least 50% of their team's competitive rounds, maintain a stroke average below 79.0 in NCAA Division III and have a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2. Recipients must also demonstrate high moral character and remain in good standing at their college or university.
