CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. — Johan Arroyo scored the game-winning goal in the 72nd minute Saturday to lift Wabash College to a 2-1 victory over Alma College in the 2026 Robbie Dreher Soccer Classic at Fischer Field.
Wabash improved to 6-0 with the victory, continuing its unbeaten start to the season, marking the best start for the team since going 8-0 to begin the 2015 season.
The Little Giants outshot the Scots 11-8 and held a 4-2 advantage in shots on goal.
Brady Reiter gave Wabash a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute with his first goal of the season. The Little Giants continued to pressure the Alma defense after Reiter's goal, earning two corner kicks and getting shots from Blake Horn and Bryce Kinnaman before taking the one-goal advantage into halftime.
Alma tied the match at 1-1 in the 52nd minute when Gavyn Moore scored off an assist from Nhan Hoang.
Wabash continued to create opportunities after the equalizer. Jonathan Parr forced Alma goalkeeper Landon Soule to make a save in the 59th minute before Arroyo provided the deciding goal at 71:24.
Gavin Glackman set up Arroyo for his first goal of the season and first career game-winning goal. The assist was Glackman's first of the year.
The Little Giants kept the pressure on after regaining the lead. Kinnaman added a shot following a Wabash corner kick in the 78th minute, while Parr forced another save in the 86th. Wabash earned three corner kicks over the final five minutes to help close out the victory.
Arroyo finished with two shots, including one on goal. Reiter scored on his only attempt of the match, while Glackman recorded the assist on the game winner.
Rafael Cordova played all 90 minutes in goal for Wabash, making one save. The Little Giants have scored at least two goals in each of their first six matches this season.
Moore led Alma with three shots, including one on goal. Soule made two saves in 90 minutes in goal for the Scots.
Wabash concludes play in the Robbie Dreher Soccer Classic on Sunday, Sept. 13, against Muskingum University. The match begins at 3:45 p.m. at Fischer Field.
