Seaburg Leads Wabash to Second Place After Opening Round at Ted Barclay Invitational

GRANVILLE, Ohio — Charlie Seaburg fired a 69 to lead Wabash College to second place after Saturday's opening round of the Ted Barclay Golf Invitational hosted by Denison University at the Denison Golf Club.

Wabash posted a four-player score of 287, 10 strokes behind first-round leader John Carroll at 277. The Little Giants hold a one-stroke advantage over third-place Wittenberg, which finished at 288. Host Denison is fourth at 292, followed by Hocking at 295 in the 14-team field.

Seaburg enters the final round tied for second place in the individual standings after his opening-round 69. John Carroll's Wade Boyle holds the individual lead after shooting a 68, while Seaburg is tied with Denison's Jack Pelletier and John Carroll's Daniel Donahue, one stroke off the lead.

Tyler Morton added a 72 for the Little Giants to finish the opening round tied for 13th place. Leo Dellinger and Mason Pierle each shot 73 and are tied for 19th, completing Wabash's four counting scores. Jackson Mahan rounded out the Little Giants' team lineup with an 82.

Finn Carteaux provided another strong round for Wabash while competing as an individual. Carteaux shot a 70 to finish the day tied for fifth place, two strokes behind Boyle and one behind Seaburg. Hudson Messer, also playing as an individual, carded an 80.

The two-day Ted Barclay Invitational concludes Sunday with the first tee time scheduled for 9 a.m.
