Jeremy Fendley joined the Wabash College football staff in 2026 as an assistant coach working with the outside linebackers, bringing more than two decades of leadership, teaching, and coaching experience shaped by an extensive military and educational background .

Fendley arrives at Wabash following a successful tenure as head football coach at Clinton Central High School, a position he held from 2023 through 2026. Prior to becoming a head coach, he built a strong résumé as a defensive specialist, most notably serving as the varsity outside linebackers coach at Westfield High School from 2019 to 2023. During his time at Westfield, he also took on additional responsibilities as the program’s lead tackling analyst, freshmen special teams coordinator, and equipment and uniform administrator.

Earlier coaching stops include varsity defensive line positions at Clinton Central High School and Sheridan High School, along with multiple roles in boys basketball at Sheridan, where he served as a varsity assistant and freshmen head coach. Fendley’s coaching experience also includes service at the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he was the officer representative for the football team and head coach of the Non-Commissioned Officer precision drill team from 2013 to 2016.

Fendley brings a distinguished military background to his role at Wabash. A retired U.S. Army senior non-commissioned officer, he served from 2000 to 2016 after beginning his military career in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1995 to 2000. His assignments included chief instructor with the 434th Field Artillery Brigade and instructor of Military Science at West Point. His military education includes advanced leadership, fitness, instructional, and resilience training.

In addition to coaching, Fendley has an extensive background in education. He has served in instructional and teaching roles at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, including positions at Sheridan Elementary School, Sheridan Middle School, and Westfield High School. He most recently worked as an alternative education teacher and physical education/weight room coordinator at Clinton Central High School.

Fendley has earned numerous military honors for outstanding and valorous service, including the Legion of Merit, three Bronze Stars, the Meritorious Service Medal, eight Army Commendation Medals, and two Army Achievement Medals. He has also been recognized as part of conference coaching staffs of the year in the Hoosier Heartland Conference and Hoosier Crossroads Conference.

A strong advocate for community engagement, Fendley has coordinated youth football camps and continues to serve as a mentor in the Sheridan Youth Assistance Program.Â
