Nathan Aker joined the Wabash College football coaching staff in March 2020 and currently serves as the tight ends coach and director of football operations and high school relations.

In his operations role, Aker oversees all aspects of team travel, including the coordination of hotel accommodations, meals and transportation. He is also responsible for developing travel itineraries and organizing the program’s annual summer five-team high school live-in camp.

As tight ends coach, Aker has mentored several standout players, including Penn Stoller, a two-time Second Team All-American and Academic All-American who also earned First Team All-North Coast Athletic Conference and All-Region 4 honors in 2022 and 2023. Aker also coached Jackson Clayborne, a Second Team All-NCAC selection in 2021. In addition to his football duties, he advises and mentors members of the Wabash College Golf Club.

Prior to Wabash, Aker served as head football coach at Monrovia High School (2019–20) and South Putnam High School (2014–19). At South Putnam, he guided the program to a sectional championship in 2018, sectional finalist appearances in 2015 and 2017, and a West Central Conference title in 2014. He previously served as assistant head coach and defensive coordinator at South Putnam (2007–14), where the team claimed sectional championships in 2011 and 2013 and led Indiana Class 2A in regular season defensive average in 2012.

Throughout his coaching career, Aker has coached six Indiana Football Coaches Association All-Stars. He has also coached former Wabash players Jonathan Thibodeau '21 and Christian Zeffel '21 at the high school level, and worked with former Little Giant Derek Dean '14 as his assistant head coach and defensive coordinator at the high school level.

Aker holds a Master of Arts in technology education from Ball State University and a Bachelor of Arts in physical education from Franklin College. He is an active member of the Indiana Football Coaches Association and the American Football Coaches Association.
