Shipman is in his second season at Wabash working with the Little Giants' inside linebackers. He also serves as the coordinator of logistics and operations for the athletics department.
Shipman came to Wabash in 2016 after working as the assistant freshmen football coach at Loyola High School in Los Angeles, California, where he worked with the offensive and defensive linemen. He served as the assistant to the head of football recruitment ad John Carroll University, where he graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor's of Arts as an English major. He played three seasons as an offensive lineman for the Blue Streaks.
Shipman has also worked in marketing and as a public relations specialist. He resides in Crawfordsville.
