Ferner joined the Wabash football coaching staff in March 2024 as the Little Giants’ cornerbacks coach. Now in his second year with the team, he will assume the role of special teams coordinator in 2025.

During his first year, Ferner coached two Little Giants to All-North Coast Athletic Conference honors. Junior Mike Holsclaw earned First-Team All-NCAC recognition, while senior Avery Epstein was named to the Second Team.

Ferner arrived at Wabash from Wilmington College, where he served as the defensive coordinator and safeties coach in 2023. Prior to that, he was the defensive quality control coach at Eastern Kentucky University in 2022, helping the Colonels reach the postseason for the first time since 2014. During his tenure, nine defensive players received All-Athletic Sun Conference (ASUN) honors, including an All-American.

Ferner began his coaching career at Wilmington College from 2020 to 2021, working as the cornerbacks coach under 2020 Ohio Athletic Conference Assistant Coach of the Year Corey Fillipovich.

Before coaching, Ferner worked in football analytics with Sports Info Solutions.

He earned his bachelor’s degree from SUNY Brockport in 2018, where he played safety and outside linebacker.

Ferner resides in Lebanon, Indiana, with his wife, Bri.
