Pat Sullivan is in his ninth season as an assistant coach for the Wabash College basketball team and was named associate head coach of the Little Giants' program in July 2019. He came to Wabash from Defiance College, where he served as an assistant for five seasons.
Sullivan served as both a graduate and full-time assistant coach for Wabash head basketball coach Kyle Brumett at Defiance from 2009 to 2014, working as the recruiting coordinator, director of scouting, and assistant director of summer camps for the Yellow Jackets. He also worked with the director of academic support as the study table coordinator for the basketball program and helped organize and run a program for at-risk students.
Sullivan graduated from Denison University in 2009, earning a bachelor of arts while majoring in communications and economics. He played basketball for the Big Red for four seasons, including three as a starting point guard, averaging 6.3 points and 2.6 assists per game. He was selected to the 2008 All-North Coast Athletic Conference Honorable Mention Team after posting a 10.6 points- and 3.6 assists-per-game average. Sullivan ranked among the top-50 players in the nation with an assist-to-turnover average of 1.97, as well. He graduated from Defiance with a master's of education with a sports coaching concentration in 2011.
Brumett and Sullivan combined for an overall record of 85-48 (.639) at Defiance in five seasons, including a 2010 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference championship and NCAA Division III Tournament appearance. The Yellow Jackets shared the HCAC men's basketball title last year with a league mark of 15-3 and an overall record of 20-6.
In addition to his duties as an assistant basketball coach, Sullivan also serves as an assistant to the Wabash Dean of Students Office.
