Jay Klein

Klein joined the Wabash College soccer coaching staff in August 2023.
 
He played collegiately at DePauw University as a three-year starter for the Tigers. Klein scored 16 goals and gave out six assists in 58 appearances. He started in 43 matches for DePauw over his career. Klein was a team captain as a senior, scoring 11 goals to lead the conference, along with three assists. He earned First Team All-North Coast Athletic Conference honors and was a First Team All-Region selection by the United Soccer Coaches. Klein earned the Phil Eskew Award as the DePauw Male Athlete of the Year and was a finalist for the Don Hunsinger Award as the NCAC Male Athlete of the Year. Klein graduated from DePauw in 2020 as a communications major.
 
Klein played in 12 games for the Dayton Dutch Lions in the USL 2 league and was team captain and starting left back/winger for the New Jersey Teamsters FC of the NISA and started as a defender for the Cincinnati Swerve MLIS semi-pro indoor team. Klein also worked for Ubuntu Cape Town FC in South Africa, where he coached the U16-U18 boys and trained with the professional team while they competed in the South Africa national first division (NFD).
