Keith Gill

Keith Gill

Gill joined the Wabash College swimming and diving program as an assistant coach in August 2023, significantly contributing to the Little Giants' success in both the pool and the classroom.

During his inaugural season (2023-24), Gill played a pivotal role in leading the team to achieve the top two highest cumulative grade-point averages in school history, boasting a 3.52 GPA. This accomplishment positioned the team among the top 20 academic programs nationally for the first time, earning the Little Giants the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Team title for both semesters. The Little Giants recruited the nation's largest single-gender class, with 16 freshmen, including the two highest-ranked recruits in the program’s history. The team achieved the second-highest point total at the North Coast Athletic Conference championship meet, breaking one program record and three freshman records while adding 23 performances to the all-time top-10 list.

The 2024-25 season saw further achievements. Wabash once again secured CSCAA Scholar All-America honors with a 3.46 GPA. In the pool, the Little Giants notably defeated arch-rival DePauw University with a historic 194-100 victory margin, dominating the top three spots in seven events. At the NCAC Championships, Wabash achieved a program-best 1,339.5 points, tying for their highest finish at third, with team records for A-finalists (23) and B-finalists (32). They set seven school records, 16 freshman records, and 45 all-time top-10 marks, along with two NCAA B-cuts. Swimcloud ranked Wabash among the top 10 most improved programs nationally following a 38-place jump in standings. The team concluded the season ranked 42nd nationally — their first ranking since 2019 — and seventh in the region, the highest in program history. Under Gill’s assistance, the incoming freshman class achieved a top-20 national ranking, marking the second consecutive year with record-setting times entering the program.

Before joining Wabash, Gill was involved with the Swim Streamline program in Houston, Texas, where he coached various age groups and assisted the national and national-select groups. He also spent three seasons as an assistant coach with the Forest Oaks swim team.

A 2021 graduate of Southwestern University with a degree in kinesiology, Gill competed for three seasons with the Pirates after transferring from Purdue University. He was named team MVP in 2020 and served as co-captain of Southwestern’s inaugural Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference championship team in 2019. Recognized as the most successful student-athlete of the decade, he was named to Southwestern University’s All-Decade Team, setting six school records and securing 11 SCAC gold medals in his career.
