Bobby Thompson

Thompson is in his seventh year as an assistant cross country and track coach at his alma mater.

Thompson graduated in 2014 from Wabash, where he participated in soccer, cross country, and track. Thompson ran on the Little Giants’ conference champion distance medley relay track team as well as several team championships. After graduating from Wabash, Thompson attended Emporia State University where he once again earned all-conference honors in the DMR and scored team points at the historic KU Relays.

Thompson returned to Crawfordsville in the fall of 2015 to begin a career as a teacher and coach. In his time as an assistant coach at Wabash in cross country, Thompson has helped guide members of the Wabash cross country team to ten All-NCAC performances, three national championship meet qualifiers, and one All-America performance.

He specializes in coaching mid-distance student-athletes in the track program. Thompson’s runners have earned 24 All-NCAC awards, including five conference champions and three All-Midwest Region performances. During his time as a coach at Wabash both the cross country and track teams have earned Scholar All-America Team honors, including three individual Scholar All-America awards.
 
Thompson teaches eighth grade at Tri-West Middle School where he also serves as the Bruins' head cross country and track and field coach. He and his wife, Paige, reside in Crawfordsville.
