Jim Peeples brings more than two decades of leadership experience in NCAA Division III athletics to his role as Director of Athletics and Recreation at Wabash College. He began his tenure in August 2025, following a successful 10-year run as Director of Athletics at Piedmont University in Georgia.
At Piedmont, Peeples led strategic athletic initiatives while also shaping the college’s enrollment and student success efforts. Prior to his administrative leadership, he spent 15 seasons as the head baseball coach, compiling 360 career wins, three conference titles, and two NCAA tournament appearances. He also served as associate athletic director during that time.
A first-generation college graduate, Peeples earned his bachelor’s degree from Westminster College (PA) and a master’s in athletic administration from Slippery Rock University. His coaching journey began at Wesleyan University and continued at Methodist College before his long and impactful tenure at Piedmont.
Nationally, Peeples served as Chair of the NCAA Division III Baseball Championships Committee (2015–17) and led the South Region committee (2013–17). His leadership extended beyond athletics at Piedmont, where he chaired first-year student success programs and collaborated with advancement and enrollment teams to enhance institutional outcomes.
Peeples and his wife, Laura—a first-grade teacher—have two grown daughters, Taylor MacMillan and Ashley Powell.
