Box Score Five Wabash errors contributed to a 17-3 loss at Butler on Tuesday afternoon.

The Little Giants took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on an RBI single by Montana Timmons to score Tanner Watson, but the Bulldogs answered with a run of their own in the bottom half of the inning. Wabash stranded two runners in the second an another in the third before Butler tacked on a run in the third to take a 2-1 lead.

Two Wabash errors in the fourth inning helped the Bulldogs pick up five runs, with two coming on a home run by Michael Hoscheit. Butler (16-13) added four more runs in the fifth, four in the seventh, and two in the eighth. The Little Giants scored a run in the seventh on Chris Deig's RBI single, then tacked on a final run in the eighth when Trey Fankhauser singled to left to score Lucas Stippler.

Watson had three of the Little Giants' 10 hits in the contest. Fankhauser and Robby Hechinger collected two hits apiece.

Both teams used the game as an opportunity to get their entire pitching staff some work. Wabash used eight pitchers, while nine Bulldogs saw action on the mound.

Wabash (13-14) returns to action on Saturday with a pair of games at VA Memorial Stadium in Chillicothe, Ohio. The Little Giants will play Case Western Reserve in the first contest before finishing with the College of Wooster in game two.
