Box Score With most of the day-to-day starters resting in prepartion for this weekend's conference crossover series at Allegheny, Wabash used Wednesday afternoon's 13-5 loss to Millikin as a tune up.
Six fresh faces, including four freshmen, dotted the Little Giants' lineup. Wabash pounded out eight hits in the contest, led by
Steven Curry and
KJ Zelenika with three apiece. Curry drove home a pair of runs with a single to left in the ninth inning, while
Grant Benefiel — in his first career start — picked up his first RBI in the fourth on a single to right before adding another in the sixth on a sacrifice fly.
Clint Scarborough and
Adam Rains each collected two hits helping Wabash to a total of 13 for the game.
Millikin (8-27) took a 3-0 lead in the third inning off senior
John Penn, who made his first career start. Pen pitched four innings in the loss, allowing four runs (two earned) on six hits and two walks.

Steven Curry all came out of the bullpen for Wabash. The Big Blue scored a run in the fifth and sixth innings before exploding for seven in the ninth to put the game out of reach. Wabash cut into the 10-run deficit off the two-run single by Curry but would get no closer.
The Little Giants (18-18) will travel to Meadville, Pennsylvania for a three-game weekend series against Allegheny. The North Coast Athletic Conference Crossover The games will determine whether Wabash or the Gators will play in Chillicothe, Ohio in the conference tournament the next week with e series victor advancing. Action begins Saturday at 1 p.m. with a pair of nine-inning contests. The series finale will be played Sunday at 1 p.m.
