Wabash lost an early seven-point lead in a 59-50 North Coast Athletic Conference loss at Oberlin Saturday afternoon.

The Yeomen held Wabash to 23 points in the second half after grabbing a 29-27 halftime lead.

Duncan Roy's three-point shot and a layup by
Daniel Purvlicis put Wabash up 5-0, which grew to a 9-2 advantage with layups by
Marcus Kammrath and
Austin Burton. The Little Giants held the seven-point edge with a 14-7 score after another layup by
Evan Frank before Oberlin (6-2, 2-1 NCAC) began cutting into the lead. The Yeomen eventually took a 15-14 lead when Matt Walker. The score flipped back and forth before Wabash mounted a run with seven points from
Daniel Purvlicis and a jumper from
Johnny Jager to take a 27-21 lead with 1:48 left in the period. Oberlin provided the final scoring run with an 8-0 effort capped by a three-pointer by Eli Silverman-Lloyd to take the lead to the locker room.

Wabash (4-3, 0-2 NCAC) started out well in the second half, retaking the lead at 34-33 on a three-point play by Jager at the 15:20 mark. The Yeomen followed with a 14-2 run over the next nine minutes to move in front by double digits. Wabash worked the margin to one point thanks to back-to-back layups by Kammrath but drew no closer in the eventual nine-point defeat.

Purvlicis scored 17 points to pace the Little Giants, while Kammrath added 10. Purvlicis picked up a double-double with 12 rebounds to lead both teams in that category. Randy Ollie led Oberlin with 15 points, while Jack Poyle finished with 13 and Nathan Cohen tallied 10.

Turnovers plagued the Little Giants once again. Wabash committed 16 miscues, leading to 17 Oberlin points.

Wabash opens a three-game home stand on Wednesday against Greenville College. Tipoff is at 7:30 p.m. at Chadwick Court.
