Wabash rallied for runs in the seventh and eighth innings to defeat Hampden-Sydney 6-4 Monday to earn the Little Giants' first win of the 2015 season.

The game is part of the 2015 Snowbird Classic played in Port Charlotte, Florida for the Little Giants' spring break schedule and featured the two colleges for men meeting on the sports field for the second time this season. Wabash defeated Hampden-Sydney 34-21 in football in Septemberg, 2014.

Wabash lost a 4-0 lead in the fifth when the Tigers tied the game with a four-run outburst with two outs in the frame. The Little Gaints took the lead for good when
Lucas Stippler scored from second on a
Tyler Owensby single down the left field line. Wabash tacked on an insurance run in the eighth off a
David Oliger sacrifice fly to secure the win.

The victory fell to reliever Michael Hermmann in his first varsity appearance. The North Putnam High School product pitched over an error that helped load the bases in the seventh by forcing the Tigers into an infield pop out before striking out the final batter of the inning. He worked two innings, holding Hampden-Sydney to one hit and one walk while striking out two batters.

Cameran Glaze pitched well in his first start of the season, striking out three in five innings. He held the Tigers to a game-opening single until the fifth inning. Hampden-Sydney collected four runs on five hits to even the score.
Alan Corey pitched a one-hit sixth inning, striking out one.
Christian Vukas came on in the ninth inning, recording one strike out while picking up his first save of the season.

Andrew Rodgers poked a single to left to start the four-run second for Wabash. After a pair of outs,
Tyler Hampton began the rally with a double to left, followed by two-run single by KJ Zelenka.
Austin Ellingwood added his first career single, moving Zelenika to third before a
Tanner Watson single brought him home with the second run of the game. Stippler followed with a single to center to bring home Ellingwood.

Zelenika, Hampton, Watson, and Ellingwood each collected two hits. Each Little Giant hitter finished with at least one of the 13 total hits for Wabash in the game.

Wabash (1-1) returns to action Tuesday with games against Heidelberg and Muskingum. The first game begins at 2 p.m.
