The Wabash swimming and diving team closed out the dual meet portion of its 2015-16 season Friday night competing at NCAA Division I IUPUI. The host Jaguars took a 143-86 victory.
Jack Belford and
Zechariah Banks claimed the only individual victories for the Little Giants at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis. Belford won the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:40.03.
Chris Dabrowski finished second (4:57.32) with
Joel Paquin taking third (4:59.28).
Banks won the 100 breaststroke by finishing in 56.26.
Josh Bleisch touched the wall in 1:02.34 for second place, ahead of
Sam Colaiacova in third place (1:05.74).
Elliot Johns,
Dylan Miller,
Wyatt Tarter, and
Chris McGue combined for a time of 1:28.09 to win the 200 freestyle relay to close out the meet.
Dabrowski added a second-place finish in the 1000 freestyle (10:11.23). McGue picked up a third-place finish in the 50 free (21.86), while Johns placed third in the 100 free (47.80).
Dane Gray also scored a third-place finish in the 100 backstroke (56.88).
Aaron Embree scored 273.75 points to take second place on the three-meter diving board. He finished third in one-meter competition with a final score of 261.68 points.
Wabash will prepare for the 2016 North Coast Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championships. The meet will take place February 11-13 at Denison University in Granville, Ohio.
