Wabash opened the 2016-17 swimming and diving season at Albion Saturday afternoon. The Little Giants fell on the short end of a 213-87 final score.

Wyatt Tarter opened the meet with a second-place finish in the 400-yard medley relay.

Benny Liang placed second in the 200 freestyle by touching the wall in 1:51.11. Tarter placed third in the event by finishing in 1:51.23. Liang scored another second-place finish in the 100 free with a time of 49.19 and a third-place finish in the 50 butterfly (24.24).

Chris Dabrowski scored second-place points in the 1,000-yard freestyle by finishing in 10:23.29. He added another second place effort in the 500 free with a time of 5:09.41. Jones touched the wall in 28.11 in the 50-yard breaststroke to finish second overall. He also placed second in the 200 breaststroke (2:16.01). Jake Riley completed the 50-free in 22.57 to earn a second-place finish.

Karczewski added a third-place finish in the 50-yard backstroke (26.11).
Colt O'Brien placed third in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:08.22.

Aaron Embree earned second-place finishes in both the one- and three-meter diving events. The sophomore scored 233.95 points on the one-meter board before tallying 237.85 points in three-meter competition.

The Little Giants closed out the meet with a third-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
