Four Little Giants provided double-digit scoring in the final game of the Black Tie Classic Sunday, but Wabash was unable to hold a lead in the final minutes of the game in a 72-65 loss to host Birmingham-Southern College.

Colten Garland paced the Little Giants with 15 points.

Duncan Roy, and
Isiah Stafford each chipped in 13 points in a game that Wabash (1-2) connected on 12-of-24 shots from three-point range. The Little Giants finished 18-of-51 overall from the field and 17-of-24 from the free throw line.

The Little Giants held a three-point lead at halftime after jumping out to a lead in the early minutes of the game. Garland drained a pair of three-point shots along with a layup by
Ronald Ryan for an 8-0 advantage in the opening three minutes of the game. Wabash maintained the lead for the next 14 minutes before a pair of free throws drew the Panthers even. Free throws in the closing minute prior to halftime by Roy provided a three-point edge at the break.

With game tied at 43-43 at the 16:49 mark of the second half, Birmingham-Southern made a 7-0 run over the next 2-1/2 minutes to take the lead it would never relinquish. Garland drained one of his five triples in the game to trim the advantage to four points before the Panthers extended the lead to as many as 16 points in the closing minutes of the game before settling for the seven-point victory.

Wabash was unable to control the paint in the game. The Panthers (2-1) produced 36 of their 72 points around the basket while limiting the Little Giants to eight points in the paint. Four Panthers scored in double figures, led by the 15-point effort of Ian Thom. Evan Lewis added 14, while Harrison Deneka an Alex Perkins added 13 and 12 points, respectively.

Wabash was uncharacteristically outrebounded in the game 36-31. Zach Patton,
Logan White, and Frank each collected five rebounds. After pounding the glass in Saturday's win over Rust, the Little Giants were held to 11 offensive boards for six points against BSC.Â

Wabash will be back on the court in seven days with a home contest Sunday, November 27 against Rose-Hulman that tips at 3 p.m.
