Jensen Kirch held Rockford University to seven hits and one run over nine innings in the Wabash baseball team's 9-1 victory Saturday.

The win closed out the Little Giants' annual spring break trip. The team finished with a record of 4-2 in Florida.

Wabash trailed Rockford (6-5) after the Regents scored a run on three hits in the top of the first inning. The Little Giants responded with a four-run first on just a pair of hits.
Sean Roginski started the bottom half of the inning with a walk and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt.
David Oliger brought Roginski home with a single, then moved to second when
Cole Harlacher reached base on an error. A walk to
KJ Zelenika loaded the bases ahead of a run-producing fielder's choice off the bat of
Andrew Roginski.
Tyler Downing proceed to drive the final two runs of the inning home with a single to left.

The Little Giants added three more runs in the second on a double by Oliger and an RBI ground out by Harlacher. Back-to-back doubles by Oliger and Harlacher produced another run in the fourth inning. Oliger connected on a single in the eighth inning to score pinch-hitter
Joe House for the final run of the game.

After giving up a run on three hits in the first inning, Kirch held the Regents scoreless on four hits over the next eight innings, including three consecutive innings midway through the game without allowing a base runner. He walked one man and struck out a career-best 11 batters.

Wabash (5-7) opens the home portion of its season Saturday  with a doubleheader against Robert Morris College beginning at noon.
