Wabash celebrated 50 years of soccer and the dedication of Fischer Field Saturday with a 4-0 win over Monmouth College in the Robbie Dreher Classic.

Little Giant alumni players returned to honor Fischer, who founded the Wabash soccer program and guided it to varsity status after two seasons as a club program.

Wabash opened with an early goal after an offensive rush created a handball penalty in the box on the Monmouth defense.
Nikola Kajmakoski slammed the penalty kick for his team-leading third goal of the year. The sophomore tallied a second goal in the match in the 37
th minute by launching a free kick on a twisting path past the Fighting Scots' goalkeeper and into the net for a 2-0 Wabash lead.

The Little Giants added another score 46 seconds later when
Free Burton collected a pass from
Max Rowley and fired a shot for his first goal of the season and a 3-0 Wabash lead.

The final goal of the match came in the 78
th minutes when
Jacques Boulais found
David Riggs open on the left wing. Riggs took the pass and drilled a right-footed shot home for the 4-0 final and the first victory of the season.

Wabash dominated play throughout the 90 minutes. The Little Giants fired 33 total shots compared to two for Monmouth (0-3-2). Wabash finished with 10 shots on goal while holding the Scots with no scoring attempts.

The Little Giants (1-2-1) face Carthage College in first game Sunday of the Classic. Carthage lost 4-1 to Hanover in Saturday's opening game. Kickoff of the Sunday match is slated for 1 p.m.
