Wabash won its weekend series versus Hanover two games to one after a doubleheader split with the Panthers at home Sunday. The Little Giant lost game one 6-5 in ten innings before scoring a 4-3 win in game two.

The Little Giants trailed Hanover (9-3) after the Panthers took a 3-0 lead in the third inning of game one. RBI singles by
Andrew Roginski and
Jared Wolfe combined with a sacrifice fly by Henry Wannemueler tied the score at 3-3 in in the sixth. Wabash mounted another comeback by tallying two runs in the ninth after a two-run double provided Hanover a 5-3 lead to send the game into extra innings.

Hanover took advantage of three walks in the first extra frame, scoring on a sacrifice fly to claim the one-run victory.

Michael Herrmann pitched 6-2/3 innings, surrendering five run (four earned) on 13 hits and one walk. He threw two strikeouts.
Luke Dant took the loss after pitching 2-1/3 innings, allowing one walk on one hit with a pair of walks and one strikeout.
Cameron Glaze gave up three walks in 2/3 of an inning before giving way to
Ryan Thomas to record the final out on a strikeout for the Little Giants.

Wabash took an early 3-0 lead through the first three innings of game two off a bases-loaded walk to
Zach Leander in the first inning, a single by
Sean Roginski in the second, and an RBI groundout by Wolfe in the third. Hanover tied the game in the eighth with a home run after scoring runs in the fourth and sixth innings.

The Little Giants avoided possible extra innings in the bottom of the eighth when
Eric Chavez drove home the game-winning run with a single through the right side of the infield.

Bryan Roberts worked for seven innings as the starter for Wabash. He scattered six hits and allowed a pair of runs while striking out seven batters while allowing one walk. Thomas pitched one inning, giving up the home run as his only hit allowed along with two walks.
Zach Moffett picked up the save with one strikeout in his only inning pitched.

Andrew Roginski and
Taylor Canter each produced three hits in the first game for Wabash. Wolfe collected two of the Little Giants' six hits in game two.

Wabash (8-5) returns to action next weekend with a three-game series against Aurora University at home beginning Saturday at 1 p.m. with the first game of a scheduled doubleheader.
