Wabash lacrosse held Piedmont scoreless over the final 15 minutes of its Sunday contest. The Little Giants rallied with a pair of goals in the fourth period but fell just short in an 8-6 loss to suffer the first loss of the season.

Wabash (2-1) trailed 8-4 to start the fourth period after holding an early 2-0 to begin the game.
Steven Stark scored his third goal of the contest with 7:03 left to play to cut the deficit to three goals.
Tucker Dixon made it a two-goal contest with 2:03 remaining but the Little Giants could get no closer.

Dixon scored a pair of goals in the game. Justin Taylor added one goal.
Collin Brennan finished with three assists while Stark had a pair of helpers.

Max Atkins recorded four saves, including three in the final period to shut out Piedmont (3-3) and allow his Wabash teammates the opportunity to try and tie the game.

Wabash outshot Piedmont 40-31. The Lions scored four goals in the second period to take the lead they would not relinquish.

The Little Giants return to action Tuesday in a neutral-site match at Piedmont against Wentworth Institute of Technology at 6 p.m.
