Wabash opened North Coast Athletic Conference baseball action Saturday afternoon at Denison University with a pair of losses, falling 2-1 in 11 innings in the opener prior to a 4-0 loss in game two.

The Little Giants held a 1-0 lead in the first contest after an RBI ground out by
Henry Wannemuehler drove
Cole Harlacher home in the second inning. The Big Red tied the game in the eighth inning to force the two extra frames before Phil Papaioannou slammed a walk off home run in the bottom of the 11
th to provide the win for the Big Red (14-3, 2-0 NCAC West).

Jensen Kirch pitched 10-2/3 innings, holding Denison to six hits and two earned runs. He walked one batter and struck out seven in the losing effort.

Andrew Roginski and
Jared Wolfe each collected two hits in the first game. The Little Giants finished with seven hits overall.

Wabash was limited to three hits in the second game. The Big Red took a 1-0 lead in the second inning before plating three runs in the seventh.

Wolfe,
Sean Roginski, and
Bryce Aldridge produced the only hits for the Little Giants in the second game. Bryce Roberts pitched 6-1/3 innings of four-hit baseball. He was charged with all four runs.
Luke Dant (2/3 of an inning) and
Kevin O'Donnell (1 inning) held Denison to one hit in their relief appearances.

Wabash (11-7, 0-2 NCAC West) concludes the the four-game series Sunday with a doubleheader against the Big Red beginning at noon.
