Michael Herrmann and the Wabash bullpen held Ohio Wesleyan to three hits Sunday afternoon in a 5-0 shutout win to secure a series split in the North Coast Athletic Conference West Division matchup. The host Battling Bishops came back to win 3-1 in the finale.

Herrmann limited OWU (11-12, 4-4 NCAC West) to three hits over 7-2/3 innings to improve to 3-1 for the season. Herrmann walked three batters and struck out eight in the victory.
Kevin O'Donnell worked an inning of relief with two strikeouts and three walks.
Zach Moffett came in to record the final out of the ninth inning to preserve the victory and the shutout.

The Little Giants scored four runs in the third inning
Andrew Roginski brought the first run home with a bases-loaded walk before
Bryce Aldridge drove in two more runs with a double to right-center field. Roginski came home one batter later on a passed ball to provide the 3-0 lead.

Eric Chavez scored a fourth run in the fourth inning, scoring on a ground out by
Jared Wolfe after Chavez laced a one-out triple down the right field line.
Sean Roginski added to the lead in the ninth inning, scoring Wolfe and Chavez with a single to provide the final seven-run differential.

Chavez and Aldridge both collected three hits in game one, while
Sean Roginski accounted for two of the Little Giants' 10 total hits.

Ohio Wesleyan jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in game two on singles by Colin Stolly and Chuck Kuhn. Kuhn was thrown out at second on a double steal, but Stolly scored from third to provide the third run in the first inning.

The Little Giants answered with a run in the fifth on a ground out by
Tyler Downing to score Aldridge. Wabash managed only five hits in the game off OWU starter Chris Punka (2-1), who worked all nine innings to earn the win. Aldridge finished with two of the five hits, joined with hits from
Andrew Roginski,
Nick Chao, and Downing.

Cody Cochran and
Ryan Thomas combined to hold the Battling Bishops throughout most of the game. Cochran fell to 1-1 for the year, pitching four innings as the starter, allowing three runs on seven hits with three walks and one strikeout. Thomas pitched four innings of relief, retiring 12 of the 13 batters he faced. He surrendered one walk.

Wabash (13-12, 2-6 NCAC West) plays host to Wittenberg University in a four-game NCAC West Division series beginning Friday at 1 p.m. at Goodrich Ballpark. The two teams meet for a doubleheader Friday before closing out the series with a pair of games Saturday.
