Wabash celebrated the senior members of the 2017 baseball team Tuesday afternoon with an 8-6 victory over DePauw University to earn a split in the two-game series.

The victory also earned the Little Giants the third seed in the North Coast Athletic Conference West Division. Wabash will travel to Oberlin College this weekend for the NCAC Crossover series.

Matt Spaulding were recognized for their contributions to the program. They added even more to help the Little Giants claim their 21
st win of the season.

Roginski drove home two runs on three hits, while Spaulding went 1-for-2 at the plate with an RBI coming off the bench.

Herrmann recorded his fifth win of the season, holding DePauw (27-8, 10-4 NCAC West) to two earned runs and four total runs on seven hits. He walked five and struck out one in five innings as the starter.
Bryan Roberts came in to pitch three innings of relief, limiting the Tigers to a pair of runs on three hits with three walks and four strikeouts.
Cody Cochran closed out the ninth inning by allowing just one hit for his third save of the season.

Tyler Downing in second for a 1-0 lead. Roginski made it 2-0 with single through the right side in the third.
Bryce Aldridge added another run with a single to right to score
Sean Roginski and provide a 3-0 lead. Aldridge finished a perfect 4-for-4 from the plate with an RBI.

Wannemuehler started the next scoring barrage for Wabash, opening the fourth inning with his second of three hits in the game. A walk to
Jared Wolfe set the table for
Sean Roginski. The sophomore delivered a two-out triple to clear the bases to give Wabash the 6-0 advantage.
Andrew Roginski made the score 7-0 in the fourth with a single to drive home his younger brother.

The Tigers responded with a pair of runs in the fifth and two more in the sixth to trim the lead to 7-4 before Spaulding laced a single up the middle in the bottom of the sixth to stretch the lead to 8-4. DePauw picked up two runs in the ninth inning before Cochran closed the door.
Strong defense helped Wabash all game long. The Little Giants turned four double plays early in the contest to keep DePauw scoreless through the first four innings.
Wabash improved to 21-14 overall with a 6-8 record against West Division opponents. The Little Giants'Â .429 winning percentage edged out Ohio Wesleyan (14-22, 6-10 NCAC) with a .375 winning percentage. Wabash split with the Battling Bishops during the season but gained an overall advantage by outscoring OWU 17-12 in the four-game series.

Wabash will play a doubleheader at Oberlin Saturday starting at noon. The three-game crossover series concludes with a single game at noon on Sunday. All three games will be nine-inning contests.
