Wabash held the tenth-ranked Wittenberg Tigers to 29 points and 10 field goals in the first half of Wednesday night's North Coast Athletic Conference matchup at Chadwick Court. The undefeated Tigers outscored the host Little Giants 43-30 in the second half in a 72-58 final.

Wabash (6-8, 2-5 NCAC) entered the evening holding opposing teams to 40 percent shooting from the field, 55
th-best in among 416 Division III teams. The Little Giants limited Wittenberg (14-0, 7-0 NCAC) to 10-of-24 shooting in the first half and only one rebound. Wabash used the defensive effort to keep the game close before eventually taking the lead at 24-22 on a
Jack Davidson three-pointer with 3:38 remaining in the half.
Alex Eberhard pushed the Little Giants' lead to four points with two of his 15 points before the Tigers answered with a three pointer from Mitchell Balser followed by a free throw for Balser to tie the score at 26-26. Jordan Pumroy added a three-point play in the final minute to push the Wittenberg advantage to 29-26. Eberhard connected on a pair of free throws with 21 seconds left to trim the Wabash deficit to one point at the break.

Parker Manges gave the Little Giants an early lead in the second half with a three-point basket before Wittenberg outscored Wabash 18-8 over the next seven minutes. The Tigers pushed their lead to as many as 19 points with 5:45 remaining in the game.

Wabash mounted a comeback effort, cutting the score to 66-56 with 2:15 left to play. The Tigers scored six points while the Little Giants could muster only two free throws in the closing minutes to provide the 14-point final differential.

Wittenberg entered the night ranked 12
th in Division III in shooting percentage, hitting 50.8 percent from the field through its first 13 games. The Tigers shot 15-of-27 in the final period for 55.6 percent to finish 25-of-51 from the field for 49 percent for the game. Wabash managed 6-of-30 shooting in the second half for 20 percent to end the night 14-of-56 from the field (25 percent).

Davidson led Wabash in scoring with 17 points. Eberhard was the only other Little Giants in double figures with 15 points.
Conner Brens came off the bench to grab career-best nine rebounds, including three offensive boards.
Four Wittenberg players scored in double figures, led by Jordan Pumroy with 15 points. Balser and Chad Roy each scored 13 points. Landon Martin finished with 11 points. Connor Seipel and Pumroy each totaled six rebounds for the Tigers. The two teams tied in rebounding for the game with 36 apiece.

Wabash continues its three-game conference home stand Saturday with a 3 p.m. contest against Denison University (8-6, 4-3 NCAC). The Big Red lost at home to DePauw 83-70 Wednesday.
