Little Giants Drop Overtime Game To Oberlin

Two free throws in the final five seconds of overtime sent Wabash to a 66-65 loss to Oberlin as the Little Giants returned to North Coast Athletic Conference action Saturday at Chadwick Court.

Wabash (6-7, 2-4 NCAC) struggled offensively in the extra five-minute period. The Little Giants were 0-4 from the field, scoring five points on free throws in seven attempts. Eli Silverman-Lloyd scored the lone overtime basket for either team 17 seconds into the extra session to give the Yeomen a 62-60 lead. Joshua Friedkin added two free throws for Oberlin to provide a four-point advantage for the visitors. Jack Davidson responded with a pair of free throws for Wabash then connected on another to cut the Oberlin lead to 64-63 with 37 seconds remaining.

Connor Rotterman drew a foul on his drive to the basket and hit both free throw attempts to give the lead to the Little Giants at 65-64 with 14 seconds left on the clock. Christian Fioretti drove the left side of the lane on Oberlin's final offensive effort, drawing a foul on a shot attempt. He hit both free throws with five seconds left to put the Yeomen up by a point. Davidson got a final shot off for the Little Giants ahead of the buzzer, but the attempt glanced off the rim to give the Yeomen their first conference win of the year.
