Wabash scored the first goal of the game in its season opener versus Trine University. However the visiting Thunder scored 10 first-half goals in a 16-6 loss for the Little Giants.

Wabash (0-1) got a goal in the first 3:34 of the game when
Collin Brennan broke free in the middle and scored to put the Little Giants up 1-0. Trine (1-0) answered with seven goals in the first period. The Thunder added three more goals in the second period for a 10-1 halftime advantage.

Trine added one more goal to start the third period before
Jake Taylor collected a pass from
Steven Stark and scored his first goal of the season.
Tucker Dixon added a goal in the closing minute of the third period off another pass from Stark.

Dajon Thomas added back-to-back goal in the fourth period on extra-man opportunities. Brennan picked up his second goal of the game in the final minute, providing Stark with his third assist.

Wabash outshot Trine 38-37. The Thunder finished with 14 saves. The Little Giants were 2-of-9 on extra-man chances while Trine scored on three of its eight advantages.

Max Atkins made seven saves in goal for the Little Giants.

Wabash plays Wilmington College from Ohio Sunday, February 25 at 1 p.m. at home.
