A scoreless third quarter for Wabash ended in an 8-5 road loss at Piedmont College Sunday afternoon to start the Little Giants' spring break trip to Georgia and North Carolina.

Wabash (1-2) trailed late in the first period before
AJ Shaheen scored an unassisted goal to tie the game at 1-1.
Collin Brennan provided a 2-1 lead for the Little Giants with his first of two goals in the contest.

Wabash and Piedmont (4-2) traded goals in the second period before the Lions evened the score at 3-3 with 3:23 remaining in the half on a man-up goal by Jeremy Kohn. Piedmont scored in the first three minutes and final two minutes of the third period while holding the Little Giants scoreless to move in front 5-3.

That was as close at Wabash would get, eventually trailing by three goals before
Tucker Dixon scored a man advantage goal in the fourth to keep the Little Giants within striking distance.

Piedmont put 23 shots on goal compared to 19 for Wabash.
Max Atkins made 15 saves in goal for the Little Giants. Brennan added an assist to his two goals for a total of three points to lead Wabash offensively.
Steven Stark collected a team-high four ground balls while
Ben Geier finished with three caused turnovers.
