Wabash traveled to Richmond, Indiana Wednesday evening for a non-conference baseball game against Earlham College. The two teams played into extra innings until Earlham drove in the winning run in the bottom of the 11th to defeat the Little Giants 5-4.

The Little Giants (18-6) trailed 4-3 entering the ninth inning when
Bryce Aldridge hit a one-single.
Cameron Martin came in to pinch run for Aldridge and moved to second on a passed ball. A ground out moved Martin to third base with two outs.
Tyler Downing delivered a base hit to bring Martin home to send the game to extra innings tied at 4-4.

The Little Giants threatened to score in the top of the 11th, getting
Nick Chao to third base with two outs after he entered the game to pinch run for
Jackson Blevins after he singled with one out. But the Little Giants were unable to take the lead, bringing Earlham to bat in the bottom half of the inning.

The host Quakers (20-6) drew a leadoff walk and eventually loaded the bases with one out. A fly ball to centerfield scored the game-winning run with a sacrifice fly to end the game with an Earlham victory.

Wabash trailed 1-0 early in the contest before scoring three runs in the top half of the fifth inning. Blevins reached on a base hit and advanced to second after a single by Aldridge.
Andrew Jumonville advanced the duo with a sacrifice bunt before Downing drove both runners home with a single. Downing scored two batters later on a sacrifice fly by
Joe House to provide the Little Giants a 3-1 lead.

Earlham scored a run in the fifth inning then took the lead in the eighth with a pair of runs to move in front 4-3.

Blevins, Aldridge, and Downing each collected three hits to account for nine of the Little Giants' 11 total hits in the game.
Eric Chavez produced the other two hits.

Tyler Cooper started the game for Wabash. He pitched five innings and allowed three hits and one earned run while walking two batters and striking out one.
Ryan Thomas pitched 3-2/3 innings of four-hit baseball. He gave up two runs, walked two batters, and struck out six.
Erich Lange worked 1-1/3 innings of one-hit baseball with one strike out.
Logan Butrum walked the only batter he faced in relief.
Kevin O'Donnell took the loss, throwing 2/3 of an inning with one walk and surrendering an unearned run.

Wabash returns to North Coast Athletic Conference action Saturday with a doubleheader versus third-ranked Wooster beginning at noon.
