Wabash took advantage of a two-out error in the fourth inning, scoring seven runs and eventually defeating Mount St. Joseph University 10-1 in non-conference baseball action at Goodrich Ballpark Wednesday afternoon.

The Little Giants improved to 23-9 with victory, giving them one more victory than last year in Head Coach
Jake Martin's first season in charge of the Wabash program. The 23 victories are the most by a Wabash team since the Little Giants went 23-19 in 2009.

Wabash trailed the visiting Lions (13-17) 1-0 when a throwing error on a ground ball to third base allowed
Bryce Aldridge to score after he laced a double down the left field line.
Eric Chavez gave Wabash the lead with an RBI double to right center to score
Jordan Hansen. After a
Tyler Downing walk, the Little Giants took advantage of another Mount St. Joseph error on a popup, scoring another run to take a 2-1 lead.
Jared Wolfe drove in two more runs with a double to right center.
Sean Roginski added another hit on a slow roller to third, then stole second base. Wolfe scored from third on the throw down to second to put Wabash in front 6-1.
Jackson Blevins capped the inning with a RBI single to complete the seven-run frame.

Chavez and
Joe House each added an RBI in the seventh inning. Chavez slammed a shot up the middle that glanced off the pitcher's glove and between first and second base for an infield single to drive in the first run of the inning. House hit a ground ball toward second that allowed another run to cross the plate to push the lead to 9-1.

Bennett Sayre picked up the final RBI of the day when his ground ball was bobbled by the Lions' third baseman before throwing to second for tag out that came after Braden Nelson raced home with the tenth run of the game.

Wabash used seven pitchers in the game, allowing the bullpen to get some work heading into an important conference weekend.
Ryan Thomas pitched three innings, holding Mount St. Joseph to one unearned run on two hits with three strikeouts.
Cody Cochran scattered two hits and a walk to go with two strikeouts in an inning of relief work.

Tyler Cooper, and
Erich Lange each pitched a hitless inning. Cooper struck out two to earn his first victory of the season. Lange struck out one a gave up one walk.
Kevin O'Donnell surrendered two hits and struck out one batter in the eight inning.
Zach Moffett closed out the ninth by allowing one hit and picking up one strikeout.

Wolfe, Roginski,
Andrew Jumonville, and Chavez each collected two of the Little Giants' 12 hits in the game. Wolfe and Chavez led the team with two RBI apiece.

Wabash plays two key road conference series this weekend, starting with a long road trip to the Cleveland area to play at Hiram College in a doubleheader on Saturday. The Little Giants will trek all the way back to Indiana after the games to play at DePauw in a twin bill Sunday afternoon.
