Little Giants To Play For Fifth at NCAC Tennis Tournament

Wabash will play against arch-rival DePauw University Saturday at 9 a.m. with the winner to claim fifth place at the 2018 North Coast Athletic Conference Tennis Tournament. The Little Giants dropped into the fifth-place match after its 5-2 loss to Ohio Wesleyan Friday morning at the Barbara Wynne Tennis Center in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Wabash (13-11) started the day with another victory by the number one doubles team of Will Reifeis and Patrick McAuley. The duo, playing on their high school home facility where they combined to win an Indiana high school state championship, moved to 24-0 for the season with 8-0 shutout victory over Shouta Fukamachi and Jack Hibbard. Reifeis added a win at number one singles by scores of 6-3, 6-4.

The Little Giants' match against DePauw will close out the season for the team. Reifeis and McAuley are likely to earn a berth to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament in the double bracket to be held in late May.
