Senior pitcher
Cody Cochran dominated the Marietta College hitters Friday in second-day action at the 2018 NCAA Division III Baseball Mideast Regional to lead Wabash to a 4-2 win over the Pioneers in the elimination portion of the bracket.

Cochran earned his eighth win of the season by pitching 7-2/3 innings of five-hit baseball. He gave up two runs and one walk while striking out seven batters.
Zach Moffett pitched 1-1/3 innings of relief to earn his ninth save. The sophomore allowed one hit and one walk with one strike out.

Wabash (29-16) scored all four runs in the fifth inning.
Sean Roginski opened the frame with a short hit to left field that he stretched into a double.
Bryce Aldridge followed with a single to right before
Andrew Jumonville's single to right field scored Roginski and send Aldridge to third.
Jackson Blevins drove in the second run of the game with a sacrifice fly to center.
Matthew Annee added another run with a double down the right field line to push the lead to 3-0.
Eric Chavez produced the final run of the inning with his double to center field to bring Annee home.

Marietta (27-18) scored two runs in the top of the eighth inning. The Pioneers, the fourth seed in the Mideast Regional bracket, collected back-to-back singles to start the inning. Cochran retired the next two hitters but then gave up his only walk of the game to load the bases. Moffett came on in relief, surrendering an RBI single and then hit a batter with the bases loaded to cut the lead to 4-2. The sophomore ended the threat with a strikeout, then retired three of the final batters he faced in the ninth to close out the victory.

Aldridge and Jumonville each finished with three hits for the Little Giants. Roginski added two hits in the game. Wabash finished with 11 total hits in the contest.

Wabash advances in the bracket and will face the losing team of Friday afternoon's game between La Roche and tournament host Adrian College. The contest against the Little Giants will take place Saturday afternoon at 1:15 p.m.
