"Tonight was a great performance by the guys on the road in the rain," Wabash head coach
Chris Keller said. "We played really good possession-style soccer and created a bunch of opportunities. We got good play from Angiano in the midfield and another great shutout by the backs and
Chad Wunderlich. Herring certainly showed a good performance with two really solid finishes for goals.
Â
"It was also a good opportunity for some of the younger players to get into the game late when we went ahead 3-0 and play some solid minutes. Â Now we'll regroup and get focused on North Coast Athletic games the remainder of the season starting with our road game Saturday at Allegheny."
Â
Wunderlich and reserve goalkeeper
Matthew Muller combined for the seventh shutout of the season for Wabash. The Little Giants limited Mount St. Joseph (1-7-1) to two total shots and no shots on goal over 90 minutes. Wabash fired 16 total shots in the match with five shots on goal. Herring, Kaiser,
Cesar Martinez, and
Javier Araujo each finished with three total shot attempts.
Â
Wabash travels to Meadville, Pennsylvania Saturday to face Allegheny in a 1 p.m. match.
