Little Giant Tankers Drop Dual Meet At Albion

The Wabash swimming and diving team traveled north to Michigan to compete at Albion University Saturday afternoon. The Little Giants lost to the host Britons 179.5 to 120.5.
 
Justin Wallar tied for first place in the 200-yard freestyle, matching the finish of Albion's Tommy Trueax with a time of 1:45.26. Kyle Louks scored additional points for Wabash in the event with a third-place finish by touching the wall at 1:49.91. Waller also grabbed second place in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:56.60.
 
Wesley Slaughter scored individual victories in the 50- and 100-yard freestyle events. He won the 50 with a time of 21.65 and completed the 100 free in 47.52 to win that race, as well. Louks added a third-place finish in the 100 free by finishing in 49.30.
 
Ben Klimczak won the 200-yard backstroke with a top time of 1:59.50. The Wabash foursome of Jan Dziadek, Waller, Louks, and Slaughter combined for a time of 1:27.61 to win the 200-yard freestyle relay. Klimczak, William Hamilton, Joe Whitaker, and Isaac Temores placed third in the relay with a time of 1:32.82.
 
Aaron Embree finished second in the one-meter diving competition with a total score of 308.30. He added another second-place finish on the three-meter board with a total of 288.50. Hunter Jones placed second in the 200 breaststroke at 2:11.19.
 
Dziadek placed second in the 100-yard backstroke by completing the race in 54.08. Klimczak finished in 55.84 to take third place. Nick Young turned in a time of 10:25.37 to finish in third place in the 1,000-yard freestyle. Dziadek also scored a second-place finish in the 100 butterfly by posting a time of 52.58. Daren Glore turned in a time of 4:27.08 in the 400-yard individual medley to place second in that event.
 
Klimczak, Jones, Dziadek, and Slaughter combined for a time of 1:37.49 to place second in the 200-yard medley relay.
 
Wabash will close out the dual meet portion of its 2018-2019 schedule on January 26 when the Little Giants travel to Washington University in St. Louis for a 1 p.m. (CST) competition.
