Wabash rallied for an 11-6 victory over Carthage College in the Little Giants' third game of their spring break trip to Arizona. Wabash lost both games of a doubleheader versus Aurora College on Sunday, losing game one 11-8 before falling 6-5 in 12 innings in game two.

The Little Giants (2-4) claimed an early 2-0 lead Monday against Carthage (2-1) before the Red Men tied the score with a pair of runs in the bottom of the second. Wabash answered with four more runs in the third to take a 6-2 lead, but Carthage scored four of its own in the bottom of the fourth to once again tie the game, this time at 6-6 to chase starting pitcher
Dylan Scheid. The freshman worked 4-1/3 innings and allowed nine hits and six runs (five earned) with two walks and two strikeouts.

Tyler Dearing entered the game in relief and closed out the final 4-2/3 innings by holding the Red Men scoreless on just two hits. Dearing walked three and struck out four to earn his first win of the season and even his record at 1-1.

Erich Lange and
Sean Roginski each drove in three runs apiece. Lange,
Matthew Annee, and
Canton Terry each collected two hits in the game for Wabash. Lange and Annee both smashed triples while Roginski slammed a double for the Little Giants' extra-base hits out of a total of 11 hits in the game.

Wabash fell behind early to Aurora (2-0) in game one on Sunday, surrendering seven runs in the first three innings, including a six-run third for the Spartans. Wabash tallied two runs in the third inning and plated two more in the fifth. The Little Giants tacked on four runs in the seventh and final inning of the double dip to end the game at 11-8. Wabash outhit Aurora 12 to 10. Annee,
Cameron Martin, and
Joe House led the way with two hits apiece.
Andrew Jumonville drove in three runs for Wabash.

Sean Smith took the loss, pitching 2-2/3 innings and surrendering seven runs (four earned) on four hits and three walks.

The Little Giants rallied in game two to take a 5-4 lead in the top of the ninth inning, only to see Aurora tie the game in the bottom of the ninth force extra innings. The Spartans earned the series sweep with a run in the bottom of the 12
th to take the 6-5 victory.

Roginski and Lange led Wabash with three hits apiece. Roginski drove in a pair of runs for the Little Giants.
Kase Lawson was effective in the start on the mound, working eight innings and scattering six hits. He gave up four runs in third but otherwise blanked the Spartans for the remainder of the game. Lawson walked three and struck out three.
Zach Moffett came on in relief in the ninth inning, giving up the tying run on two hits and one walk with one strike out.
Kevin O'Donnell took the loss in relief of Moffett, allowing a run on one hit along with two walks and two strikeouts in 1-2/3 innings of work.

Wabash will return to action on Wednesday in Tucson with a single game against Gustavus Adolphus College. The two teams will then meet again on Friday for a doubleheader to close out the Little Giants' spring break trip.
