Wabash exploded for 13 runs on 15 hits in Saturday's first baseball game against Kenyon College, defeating the Lords in the opening home conference series 13-3 in a game stopped after seven innings due to the 10-run rule. The visitors came back in game two to defeat Wabash 6-1 to end with a split in the two-game series at Goodrich Ballpark.

Kase Lawson earned the victory in game one for Wabash (11-11, 1-4 NCAC) to improve to 3-1 for the season and pick up the first win in North Coast Athletic conference play for the Little Giants. He limited Kenyon (15-8, 2-2 NCAC) to three runs on seven hits while walking only two batters and striking out five over seven innings on the mound.

Wabash scored two early runs in the first two innings to jump in front of the visiting Lords.
Sean Roginski brought
Jackson Blevins home in the first inning with a sacrifice fly to put the Little Giants up 1-0.
Eric Chavez added another run with an RBI single in the second to score
Andrew Jumonville.

Wabash plated four runs in the fourth inning and six more in the fifth after Kenyon scored twice in the top of the fifth inning. Blevins delivered an RBI double in the fourth, followed by a run-scoring single off the bat of
Matthew Annee. Roginski raced home on a wild pitch in the fourth inning before a triple by Jumonville drove in Annee with the fourth run of the inning.

Erich Lange each picked up an RBI in fifth inning to blow the game wide open with Wabash in front 12-2. Kenyon picked up its final run in the top of the sixth inning before the Little Giants ended the game early in the bottom of the seventh. Jumonville led off the inning with a single and moved up to second base on a passed ball. Terry delivered the game-ending with a double to left field to end the contest at 13-3.

Chavez finished 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Wabash offense.
Jared Wolfe, Blevins, Jumonville, Terry, and Lange each collected two hits. Roginski, Annnee, Jumonville, and Terry delivered two RBI apiece.

Wabash fell behind 2-0 in the second innings of game two before answering with a run in the bottom of the second on a sacrifice fly by
Erich Lange. The Lords added a run in the third and three more in the sixth inning to tag starting pitcher
Sean Smith with the loss. Smith pitched five innings, giving up six runs (four earned) on seven hits and four walks. He struck out five batters.
Kevin O'Donnell worked four scoreless innings of relief for Wabash, walking one batter and not allowing a hit while recording four strikeouts.

The Little Giants managed seven hits in game two to match the seven-hit effort by Kenyon. Annee led the way with two hits, while Wolfe, Blevins, Roginski, Terry, and Lange each had one hit apiece.

Wabash will play Rose-Hulman on Sunday afternoon in a non-conference doubleheader beginning at noon.
