A five-run eighth inning boosted Wabash past Rose-Hulman 12-10 in the second game of Sunday's doubleheader against the Fightin' Engineers and gave the Little Giants the two-game series sweep after posting an 11-3 win in game one.

Wabash (13-11) trailed 8-7 entering the eighth inning of game two when
Jared Wolfe led off the bottom of the inning with his second triple of the ball game.
Jackson Blevins followed with a two-run home run to right center field to put the Little Giants in front 9-8. Wabash kept up its offensive tear in the inning, scoring five runs on seven hits while sending all nine batters to the plate.
Sean Roginski added a second triple in the inning and come home on a single by
Matthew Annee.
Eric Chavez brought Annee home with a single to center.
Austin Simmers provided the final RBI of the inning with a single to short that brought
Erich Lange home with the fifth run of the inning.

Blevins drove in four runs going 3-of-4 from the plate. Wolfe and Roginski added three hits and two RBI apiece. The Little Giants pounded out 15 hits total in the contest.

Freshman
Julian Rutherford was the beneficiary of the late offensive output, earning his first career win in a relief appearance. He pitched two scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and one walk with one strikeout.
Parker Noll pitched one inning in the start, followed by relievers
Eric Murphy and
Ryan Thomas. The trio combined for six innings pitched and seven earned runs on 12 hits, two walks, and three hit batsmen.
Zach Moffett pitched the ninth inning, giving up a pair of runs on a hit and a walk.

The Little Giants rode the pitching of
Logan Butrum and
Eric Lakomek to the victory in game one. Butrum pitched six innings and allowed two earned runs on eight hits and two walks. He struck out four batters to earn his first win of the season. Lakomek pitched the final three innings to earn his first save of the year. He held Rose-Hulman (12-8) to one hit and one walk while striking out one batter.

Andrew Jumonville tied the game in the first inning with an RBI double to bring home Roginski for a 1-1 contest after the Engineers scored in the top half of the frame. Rose-Hulman scored again in the top of the second before Wabash tacked on two runs in the bottom of the second. Chavez brought in the first run with a double to the wall in right center.
Cameron Martin drove Chavez home with a single to right to put Wabash in front 3-2. Annee added another run in the third inning with a sacrifice fly to score Roginski for a 4-2 lead.

The Little Giants added another run in the sixth inning before tacking on six more in the seventh inning for the 11-3 lead. Wolfe and Jumonville each collected three hits in game one, while Chavez and Martin finished with two hits apiece. Chavez and Simmers each picked up two RBI to pace the Wabash offense to the victory.

The two-game sweep is the first for the Little Giants against Rose-Hulman since winning two games against the Engineers in Terre Haute in 1986 before repeating the two-game sweep two weeks later in Crawfordsville. Wabash had lost its last four games against Rose before posting Sunday's wins.

The Little Giants will continue the non-conference portion of their schedule on Tuesday with a 6 p.m. contest against Anderson University. The game will be played at Victory Field in downtown Indianapolis. Gates at Victory Field will open at 5 p.m. on Tuesday. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for seniors and $2 for students.
