Wabash held a 2-1 lead in the second inning against the 15
th-ranked College of Wooster in the first game of the 2019 North Coast Athletic Conference Baseball Tournament. The Little Giants were unable to hold off the Scots' offense in late innings, losing 10-4 in the double-elimination tourney.

Wabash (21-18) trailed 1-0 before an RBI single by
Eric Chavez brought
Canton Terry home to tie the score at 1-1 in the top of the second. Chavez moved to second when Wooster (25-10) misplayed the single in the outfield to put the go-ahead run at second.
Andrew Jumonville followed with a single up the middle to score Chavez and give the Little Giants the lead. The Scots picked up a run in the third inning to even the score at 2-2.

Both teams threatened to score in the third inning, putting the first two batters on base, but
Kase Lawson for Wabash and Wooster starter Chandler Dippmann pitched out their respective jams to keep the score tied.

Wooster broke the game open in the fifth inning, scoring three runs on four hits with the big blow coming on a two-run home run by Dippmann. The Scots tacked on two runs in the seventh and three more in the eighth. The Little Giants picked up their final two runs in the top of the ninth inning on a single by
Jared Wolfe and a sacrifice fly by
Jackson Blevins for the 10-4 final.

Lawson pitched five innings and gave up five runs (four earned) on eight hits to move to 3-3 on the season with the loss. He walked a pair of Wooster batters and recorded three strikeouts.
Kevin O'Donnell,
Eric Lakomek, and
Julian Rutherford combined for three innings of relief work. They allowed a total of seven hits and five runs.

Jumonville led the Wabash offense with three of the Little Giants' 11 hits in the game. Wolfe, Chavez, and
Austin Simmers each added two hits.

Wabash moves to the number-four game of the tournament schedule and will face the losing team from Thursday's second game of the tournament between Allegheny and Denison. Game four, the first elimination game of the tourney, is scheduled to start Thursday evening at 7 p.m.
