Wabash split a pair of Sunday games at the Grand Park Sports Campus in Westfield, Indiana. The Little Giants defeated the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point 5-4 before suffering their first loss of the season in a 6-0 shutout by Baldwin Wallace.

Wabash (2-1) trailed Stevens Point (0-1) 1-0 after the Pointers scored an unearned run off starter
Dylan Scheid in the first inning. The Little Giants rallied for four runs in the third.
Josh Weidenbenner was hit by a pitch and moved to second on a single off the bat of
Cameron Martin.
Jackson Blevins, who swung a hot bat all weekend, delivered a single to load the bases.
Andrew Jumonville drove in the first two runs with an RBI single to give Wabash the 2-1 lead.
Matthew Annee followed with an RBI double to right center field to bring home Blevins. Jumonville scored on a balk by Stevens Point starter Zack Haupt to take the 4-1 lead.

The Pointers got a run back in the fourth inning before Annee drove in another run with his second double of the game to push the advantage to 5-2. The Little Giants would need every run as Stevens Point scored in the bottom of the seventh inning off reliever
Sean Smith, who picked up the victory with three innings of work.

Smith gave way to Wabash closer
Zach Moffett with two outs in the bottom of the seventh. Moffett retired the only batter he faced in that inning. He walked the first batter of the eighth inning but immediately picked him off first base before retiring the side with a ground out and a strikeout.

Moffett surrendered a leadoff triple in bottom of the ninth inning, allowing the run to score on a one-out double. With the tying run at third base he hit a batter with two outs to put the go-ahead run on base, but finished the game with a strikeout to preserve the win. The Wabash victory gave Moffett his first save of the season and 18
th of his career.

Smith gave up one run on four hits with two walks and two strikeouts. Scheid pitched 3-2/3 innings of one-hit baseball. He gave up one earned run along with the unearned run in the first inning. Scheid walked four batters and recorded four strikeouts. Moffett scattered two hits and one walk with one hit batter. He struck out three in 2-1/3 innings of work.

Blevins finished 4-of-5 at the plate. Annee collected two hits and two RBI. Jumonville also picked up two RBI on one hit. The Little Giants finished with 10 hits for the game.

The Wabash bats were silenced in Sunday's second game against Baldwin Wallace. Blevins and Weidenbenner collected the only hits of the game for the Little Giants. Blevins hit his second double of the season to lead off the fourth inning but was stranded at second base. He finished the weekend 7-of-13 at the plate for a .538 batting average and a .571 on-base percentage.

Logan Buttrum gave up three runs in 2-2/3 innings to take the loss versus Baldwin Wallace. Seven Wabash pitchers combined to give up seven hits and seven walks.

Gavin Patrick each recorded two strikeouts on the mound for the Little Giants.

Wabash will return to action on March 8 when the Little Giants travel to Tucson, Arizona, to play a series of eight games as part of the team's annual spring break trip.
