Wabash Volleyball Debuts In Doubleheader Against Adrian

Sunday afternoon the Wabash College volleyball team hit the court for the first time in competition in school history. The Little Giants made their program debut against Adrian College in a Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League doubleheader, falling by scores of 3-0 in both contests at Chadwick Court.

Head coach Ryan Bowerman's squad held their own against the more veteran visiting Bulldogs (1-1) in the early going. Wabash (0-2) traded the lead with Adrian three times in the opening set of the day in addition to recording five ties. The Little Giants took their first lead of the set on a service ace by Thang Sathing and a kill by Luke Wallace on back-to-back plays for an 8-7 advantage. The Bulldogs eventually moved back in front and claimed a 25-15 win.

Wabash started the second set with a lead on a Luke Davis service ace before a 5-1 run by Adrian provided a second set lead the Bulldogs would not relinquish, claiming the second set by a score of 25-15. The Little Giants jumped out to an early lead in the final set of the first match with back-to-back kills by Carson Meadors and Sathing. Wabash took a 3-1 lead in the third set before another Adrian rally led to a 25-19 victory and the overall 3-0 win by the visitors.

Adrian used a strong service game in the second contest to claim a three-set victory by scores of 25-5, 25-13, and 25-10.
