Wabash put six shots on goal and had another glance off the post in its North Coast Athletic Conference match at Denison Wednesday evening. The Little Giants lost 1-0 to the host Big Red.
Wabash (9-3-1, 2-1-1 NCAC) suffered its first loss of the season in conference play. Denison (6-4-1, 2-2-0 NCAC) picked up the victory by scoring in the 72nd minute when Jake Krueger collected a loose ball in front of the Wabash goal to produce the only goal of the night.Â
Wabash nearly took the early lead when a second-half shot from the right side of the pitch hit the far left post and bounced harmlessly away from the front of the net. The Little Giants fired 14 total shots in the match with six ending up on goal.
Jerry Little II led the team with two shots on goal.
Coledon Johnson,
Alexis Delgado,
Mitchell Keeling, and
Jordan Donsky each finished with one shot on goal.Â
Michael Bertram turned away five of the six shots on goal put up by Denison in the match. The Big Red finished with 19 total shots for the contest.
Wabash returns to Fischer Field for the first time since October 2 when the Little Giants play 22nd-ranked Kenyon College at noon this Saturday.Â
